BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! Jess and I met the landlord, checked out the Store, found out what all we have to do, and imagined the possibilities! We strolled thru Mid-Town, ate at Broad St Market, imagined some more, went to the Mid-Town Tavern for a refreshing adult beverage, got out pen and paper and hashed out more ideas. Our heads are spinning! We both tried to take Sunday off, but ideas are still running rampant.
So, Landlord is on board, Jess and I have a meeting with SCORE tomorrow, we've sent out feelers for interest, and damn if the ideas aren't getting better and better! So far, apart from a bit of nay-saying from her fiance, things are very positive and rolling forward. I would like to do all renovations through women owned businesses, however, I am only half of this, and sometimes, there are contingiencies, and she knows people, too. The more cooperation we get from creative people we know, the better, RIGHT?
Anyhow, I have been trying to work more on the rough Business Plan, but it is HOT up here and I can't get a laptop anytime soon. No matter how hard I drop hints to M, he just ain't a-budgin' on it. He is seemingly on board, though. He talks like it's already a done deal, which is absolutely encouraging, and that makes me happy!
Anyone with direction on grants, people who know people, Artists and Craftspeople looking to work with Recyclables and Repurposing, as well as a multitude of other talents, drop me a line!

Hey there! I love this new venture you are starting! I am just down the highway :) in Lancaster, PA.
ReplyDeleteI currently use recycled items in much of my work, and am moving to make that a larger majority of it. I would love to get involved with your shop! I also know of others who may be interested, if you want to email me at BBBellezza@comcast.net
Thanks!
